Both of my parents were left-handed and I'm right handed so I had so much trouble learning my left from my right since they used the opposite hand. My mom actually pretty much taught herself to use her right hand for things like scissors since they didn't have such things for lefties for most of her life.

My mom is left-handed and spent my entire life trying to force me to be left-handed. I wasnt' even allowed to eat with my right hand when I was a kid. It's funny to watch me now. I write with my right hand, eat with my left hand, and most anything else I can use either hand. In surgery it's the same way though. The first day they asked if anyone was left-handed. There was only one.

Wow, I had no idea being left-handed could cause that much trouble.

Sounds like what you need is a good ol' Leftorium store run by that other famous southpaw, Ned Flanders. (In Australia, the slang word for a left-handed person is a "Cackyhander". Thought you should know that.)

My sis is left-handed and she's one of the most talented artists I know personally.:) She learned early on to write with her right hand. But everything else she does with her left, including all her graphic arts work, painting, and calligraphy. I do remember when we were young how my mom tried to teach the left-handedness out of her, at time using spankings to try and even scare it out of her. Thank God though that didn't work. I can't imagine that she would be able to create the beautiful things she does with her right hand. :)

"The other beginner in the class was pretty much finished with this part before I ever got started." So you're blaming ineptitude on handedness now, huh? :)

My Ex was a lefty. So of course everything was arranged for his comfort, including the handle on the fridge. Did you know they were switchable? Go look on the top of the door for two little plastic plugs. I am fairly ambidextirous though, so I didn't really mind. I still keep the fridge that way though, because it's a scream to watch all the righties try to get into it. They pull and pull and yell that theres something wrong with it. One large friend almost pulled it over. Ochre sez: Strangely enough, my last name means left handed. He's an amby too.

The five year old we are adopting is left-handed, while my husband and I are righties. We're having a horrible time trying to teach her to tie her shoes, cut with scissors, even writing is tough since she seems to want to do a mirror image of what my right hand does. Ugh. Seriosly, I feel for you. I never knew the pain of the southpaw.

Hi Muse! I am here to wish you a happy Easter, and of course to urge you out of your shell, given that you are in one. Actually, I secretly think that you have found a boy and he is now consuming all of your writing time.

My parents are left handed, so Im sure they feel your pain. My brother and boyfriend, have learned to use both of their hands. Each of them are artists, and my bf is in university for graphic design right now. I guess he feels your pain too. Meanwhile Im just a right handed girl surrounded my leftys. *hugs* -Hope
