Okay, let me tell you about spending. We just came back from Hawaii, where it costs $100 to wake up in the morning. Hawaii is really beautiful, but after spending your children's college money for a few days, it loses its appeal. Here's a short list of the items we bought (keep in mind this has been our first trip to the United States in a year): 4 beach towels (3 say "Hawaii," 1 says "Guam." Don't know why.)
1 straw hat
1 golf hat
2 pairs of sandals
3 pairs flowered swim trunks
3 flowered shirts
3 tikis
4 T shirts
7 books from Barnes and Noble (yes, I know they have a website, but buying them in person is better)
5 boxes chocolate covered macadamia nuts
3 post-it note pads shaped like flowered shirts
1 gallon of sunscreen (we were determined to get absolutely no color)
Lots of food amounting to about 20lbs of body fat per person
Mai-Tais (lost count, but who cares. They were the only thing worth the money)
Besides the sunscreen and mai-tais, did I really need any of this?
